Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1/8 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp olive oil or non-stick spray for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Dredge in flour, then dip in the beaten egg.

  2. Coat the Chicken: Mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Coat the chicken breasts in this mixture.

  3. Fry the Chicken: Heat 1 teaspoon of olive oil (or use non-stick spray) in a pan over medium heat. Cook the chicken breasts for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.

  4. Bake: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Place the fried chicken breasts in a baking dish. Top each with marinara sauce and 1/8 cup of shredded mozzarella.

  5. Finish: Bake for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
